A former Tory councillor has called on the Government to do “yet one more U-turn” and prevent massive development in the green belt.
Former Bradford Council executive member for the environment, Councillor Anne Hawkesworth (Ind, Ilkley, pictured) criticised Planning Minister Nick Boles, who visited Menston at the end of last month.
She said: “Over the past six months the Government has made a speciality of U-turns and broken promises plus introducing legislation neither in its manifesto nor in the Queen’s speech. “The U-turn they need to make is on planning and the disastrous effect of massive development.”
