Trains in and out of Bradford Interchange have been hit by delays after a train crashed into two bikes near Batley.
Grand Central services between the Interchange and Doncaster are behind schedule by at least 40 minutes. It is not clear when normal service will be resumed.
A Network Rail spokesman said a train was damaged when it hit two pushbikes that had been left on the line between Batley and Dewsbury.
Another train heading in the opposite direction was damaged by resulting debris. The crash happened at 4.20pm.
Network Rail said no-one was believed to have been injured.
The incident is also affecting First TransPennine Express and Northern Rail services.
By 5.05pm, the scene had been cleared, but the knock-on effect of the incident caused delays.
A Network Rail spokesman said: "Unfortunately vandalism of this sort causes problems."
