West Yorkshire Trading Standards are directing people worried about debt to an information site to see how much they could save with a handy credit card repayment calculator.

The Which? consumer website tells people that paying the minimum payment on their credit card each month means it could take years to clear the balance.

Using their calculator, people can find out how much they could save by entering how much they owe on the card, the interest rate (APR) the credit card charges and how much you can afford to repay each month.

The repayment calculator will show how much quicker you could pay off your balance by making the extra payment, and how much cash you could save.
