Keighley Shares group branches out with free transport

Free transport is being laid on for older people who want to use an allotment run by the Keighley Shares group.
The group's Branching Out scheme allows over-55s to keep fit and socialise by growing vegetables and herbs. Other people volunteer to be “buddies” for those who need support to use the allotment, on Royd Ings.
Keighley Shares co-ordinator Shona Grange said the Bradford Community Part-nership and Winter Warmth Programme had provided funds to pay for minibus transport. The police station, which is near the allotment, had also offered a couple of parking spaces for users who had vehicles.
Over-55s wishing to attend, and others willing to be buddies, should contact Andy Sheppard or Shona on (01274) 482438.
