The Guru Gobind temple in Leeds Road in Bradford has given food to a shelter for homeless youngsters
A van-load of food and much-needed beds and bedding have been donated to a homeless young people’s shelter by members of The Guru Gobind Sikh temple, off Leeds Road, Bradford.
The temple, under its president Kaldeep Singh-Dulay, has set up the Godzone project to help needy families in the city.
The packaged food has been given to the Owlet Grange shelter in Crag Road, Shipley, which is run as part of Bradford City Centre Project.
Mr Singh-Dulay said he wanted to use his position at the temple to do something to help. He contacted the shelter and asked what was most needed.
“The message we want to get across is awareness – how big the problem is.
“There are some pretty desperate people out there. There can be a stigma attached to homelessness, but it can happen to anybody.”
