Police give a talk about the effects of crime at Frizinghall Primary School
Pupils at Frizinghall Primary School, Bradford, have been learning how crime can negatively affect their lives.
They heard a former offender talk about how crime and prison had affected his life, and took part in workshops with police officers about crimes involving gangs, guns, knives and drugs, and the Prison! Me! No Way! Trust, a project funded by cash seized from criminals under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
PCSO Cath Elder, of the North Bradford Neighbourhood Policing Team, who helped to organise the visit, said the sessions had been well-received.
“The children were captivated and it certainly had an impact on them,” she said.
“We will continue to work with our community at every level to prevent crime and build on the strong sense of pride that already exists in Frizinghall.”
