Balcony fall victims stable

Four women and a man remained in hospital at the weekend after they plunged to the ground when a balcony collapsed at a Brighouse restaurant on Friday. Jack McDaid, owner of Casa in Elland Road, was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary after he suffered head and other injuries. The women, who all suffered various injuries including broken bones, were taken by road ambulances to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary. All five have been described as being in a stable condition.
