Emergency services descended on a railway tunnel in the Bradford district after reports of a chemical spill on a train – but there was no cause for alarm.

Fire, police and ambulance crews were taking part in an exercise to test their responses at Ingrow railway tunnel, on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway.

Students from Leeds City College Keighley Campus played the part of casualties.

Police Chief Inspector Tom Horner said: “These exercises are crucial in making sure the police and partner agencies can respond correctly in the event of a serious incident or chemical attack.”
