Keighley players pooling efforts for Marie Curie Cancer Care

A Keighley pool player is on cue to raise pots of cash for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Dave Pearson is staging a 24-hour 8-ball pool marathon in aid of the charity.

The venture is in tribute to the care given to his aunt Su Reynard, of Ingrow, who died in December aged 39 after a two-year battle against cervical cancer.

“Su was a very bubbly person who always put people before herself and never worried about her illness,” said Mr Pearson, 28, a chef.

“She loved pool and this event is in her memory.”

The marathon on April 6 from 1.30pm is being staged at Pilky’s in Keighley, where Su played for more than a decade and Mr Pearson is a team member.

Anyone wanting to sponsor the players or donate items for the raffle is asked to contact Julie Pilkington, at Pilky’s, on (01535) 605245.
