Welcome to Yorkshire to hold conference
9:00am Wednesday 13th February 2013 in News
Tourism chiefs from Bradford will join their counterparts from across Yorkshire at a prestigious upcoming event.
The UK’s biggest tourism conference returns this year when Welcome to Yorkshire will set out its plans for 2013.
Y 13, dubbed Yorkshire United, will see the tourism agency welcome 1,000 key tourism figures from the county, including Bradford, to unveil its plans to market the area for the coming year.
It will be the first major tourism event since Welcome to Yorkshire secured the Grand Depart of the Tour de France and the agency will update the industry on progress in the run up to July 5 and 6, 2014.
The event, at the West Yorkshire Playhouse, Leeds, will be a chat show format anchored by TV presenter Rob Walker.
Chief executive Gary Verity said: “This event is the biggest and boldest of its kind in the UK. It’s about sharing our plans, engaging with our tourism sector and invigorating them prior to the start of the main holiday season.”
The event on Thursday, March 21, is free for Welcome to Yorkshire members and costs £50 for non-members. To book, go to yorkshire.com/y13.
