Marvin King
A depressed man who habitually dressed like the character of Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Carribbean films accidentally overdosed on his partner's painkillers as a cry for help, an inquest heard.
Marvin King, 23, died at his home at Windsor Grove, Oakworth, Keighley, on the morning of August 21 last year.
At the Bradford hearing yesterday his partner Gypsi Markey described how she had first thought Mr King was “playing up” and “attention seeking” at being drowsy and making choking noises because they had “had words” the night before, but she dialled 999 for an ambulance when he became unresponsive.
Toxicology tests later showed Mr King had taken an excessive but not a huge amount of Miss Markey’s prescribed painkillers.
Bradford Assistant Deputy Coroner Roger Whittaker recorded a verdict of accidental death saying he believed Mr King had been making a cry for help.
