Oxenhope community centre gets funding boost

Worth Valley councillors presented £1,500 to a community centre.

The cash from the Worth Valley Initiatives Fund has gone to Oxenhope Community Centre, and will go towards the costs of repairing the building’s drains.

The premises also require renovation, and local people have been raising funds.

A spokesman for Oxenhope Community Association, which runs the centre, said it was noticed last autumn that drains outside the building were not functioning.

A successful bid for financial assistance was made to the Worth Valley Initiatives Fund, administered by councillors Glen Miller, Rebecca Poulsen and Russell Brown.

Tony Maw, chairman of the community association, said: “We are very grateful for the support.”
