Idle Post Office to get new look
12:00pm Monday 11th February 2013 in News
A Bradford post office is being transformed into a ‘main-style’ branch with longer opening hours.
Idle Post Office, on Bradford Road, will be fitted with a new open-plan design with four serving positions and will have its opening hours extended by five hours a week and will open until 5.30pm on Saturday afternoons.
It will close for refurbishment from Wednesday, February 13, to Tuesday, February 19, and will reopen at 9am on Wednesday, February 20.
Adrian Wales, Post Office regional network manager for central England, said: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in Idle and we are confident that this new modern Post Office service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.
“This modernisation is part of a three-year investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office, that will see around 6,000 branches - about half the Post Office network - converting to new-style branches.
“This investment makes a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”
While Idle Post Office is closed, the nearest Post Offices for residents are at Wrose, on Wrose Road, Shipley, and Five Lane Ends on Highfield Road.

This is the best Post Office for miles around and has lovely people who run it. The staff are all so friendly too. So glad it is having an update and wish them all the best once it is opened again.
