Budding lawyers faced a top Bradford barrister and part-time judge to show off their advocacy skills.

The four bar students at law school attended Bradford Crown Court to put what they have been learning in to practise before Recorder Tahir Khan QC.

Mr Khan, who is based at Broadway House barristers chambers in Bradford, was the first Muslim on the North-Eastern Circuit to be appointed a Queen’s Counsel.

Sixteen students entered the competition and they were whittled down to a final four after barristers from Broadway House judged earlier heats.

The chambers provided wigs and gowns for the students.
