Two Bradford men face ‘crash for cash’ charges

Two Bradford men have appeared in court as part of an alleged crash for cash conspiracy.

Safaida Bi, 30, of Ings Way, Fairweather Green, and Kiran Shaheen, 21, of Kensington Road, Girlington, were among 15 people who appeared at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

They are alleged to have conspired together and with others to defraud insurance companies between January 1 and July 31, 2011.

The defendants were bailed to appear at Sheffield Crown Court next week.

The alleged scam is claimed to involve tens of thousands of pounds.

South Yorkshire Police investigated after a bus crashed into the back of a car in Sheffield in 2011.
