Keighley and Ilkley MP Kris Hopkins (pictured) has asked the Tourism Minister for a recognition of the importance of the rural economy.
In a House of Commons debate on rural pursuits, Mr Hopkins asked Tourism Minister Hugh Robertson: “Do you recognise the importance of the rural service economy?”
The Minister told Mr Hopkins: “The Government recognises entirely the important role that informal outdoor activity and sport-related activity play in supporting tourism and the health and well-being agendas.”
