South Craven School pupils enjoy business challenge
12:00pm Sunday 10th February 2013 in News
A school competition based on a popular television show put pupils’ entrepreneurial skills to the test.
A group of 20 year nine students at South Craven School, in Cross Hills, near Keighley, took part in a contest modelled on The Apprentice, led by teachers Martin Bowness and Lorraine Hughes.
The pupils grappled with a new business-related task each week. One of these challenges involved designing a new chocolate bar for the brand Mars.
A spokesman for South Craven said: “At the end of each challenge, one member from the losing team was ‘fired’.
"Once the contestants were whittled down to six, they were each interviewed and were asked a series of questions about the world of business.
“At the end, Phoebe Brittain was declared to be The Apprentice.”
