Nearly half of workers in Yorkshire and the Humber have not heard the words ‘thank you’ from their boss in more than a year, a study found.
A national study of 2,000 workers found more than one in two people feel they do not feel they receive the proper credit for their efforts, with employees from the region claiming that, despite their hard work, their bosses say thank you less than in any other area of the UK.
One in four people said they had never had a thank you from their employer.
Gregg Corbett, of office experts Avery which commissioned the study, said: “Most people put a lot of effort into the work they do each day and take a lot of pride in what they do, but it seems many don’t receive the thanks they’d like.”
