Film critic Mark Kermode returns to this year’s Bradford International Film Festival with his skiffle band The Dodge Brothers.
Tickets went on sale yesterday for the festival, which runs from April 11 to 21.
Mr Kermode’s four-piece band returns to Bradford following last year’s debut busking in the city centre. Along with pianist Neil Brand, they will accompany rarely-seen Russian silent film The Ghost that Never Runs.
Also screened during the festival will be BUG, an irreverent music video show by Adam Buxton, one half of comedy duo Adam and Joe. Specially devised for Bradford, it is a selection of favourite videos from recent British Film Institute shows, along with new unseen footage, all with commentary from YouTube commentators, and interspersed with Adam’s irreverent comedy.
Also announced is Comedy with Aidan Goatley’s 10 Films With My Dad. One of the surprise hits at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe, comedian Aidan’s show features ten films he watched with his father, ranging from the recent Avatar to 1942 British war propaganda film Went The Day Well.
