Knife-wielding robbers threatened a shopkeeper and ripped two necklaces from his wife’s neck in a terrifying raid at a mini-market.
Three hooded men stormed into Greengates Mini-Market, Ruswarp Crescent, Greengates, on Monday at 7.30pm and demanded money.
The shopkeeper was pushed to the floor after two of the men forced their way behind the counter. The third robber then stole the jewellery from the shopkeeper’s wife.
The men – all white and slim – left the shop and ran down Rookwith Parade before getting in a silver/grey saloon car and driving off.
Detective Inspector Neil Benstead, of Airedale and North Bradford CID, said: “This was a frightening robbery where the victims were subjected to threats with a knife and unnecessary violence. It seems likely that the suspects were seen preparing for the robbery or making their escape on foot and in a vehicle.
“I would appeal for information from anyone who may have witnessed the robbery or the escape of the men or anyone with any information as to who is responsible.”
One of the robbers was wearing a black Adidas tracksuit with three light grey stripes, black trainers and gloves. He was also carrying a small knife.
Another was wearing a black hooded top with a white logo on the back, grey or blue bottoms, and gloves.
The third man was wearing black clothing, a balaclava, white and black trainers, and gloves.
Any witnesses or anyone with information can contact police on 101.
