Carlton Bolling College is celebrating a glowing report from Ofsted which praises it for a leap in results and outstanding teaching.

The school, in Bradford, has been judged to be ‘Good’ and the report praises its GCSE results in 2012 which were “the highest for many years,” after previously judged to be ‘Satisfactory’.

Acting headteacher Andy Taylor said he was delighted.

“It’s a proud day for everyone associated with the school and this achievement reflects everybody’s hard work,” he said.

“We are delighted with Ofsted’s findings as they reflect the way we see the school. We will continue with our hard work and strive for even more success.”

The inspectors found there was good and outstanding teaching in all key stages.

“The strong drive to improve teaching across the school continues to bear fruit,” they said.

Inspectors gave special praise to A-Level students.

Coun Ralph Berry, executive member for children’s services, said: “This is a great achievement for Carlton Bolling. Congratulations go to students, staff, governors, parents and the wider community on this very positive outcome.”
