Performers with a Keighley theatre group have achieved the first level of the national Arts Award.

Four members of Big Soup Theatre Company spent 18 months working towards a bronze award with the prestigious scheme.

Thomas Jagger, Venice Richardson, Cameron Wright and Laura Throup each had to carry out about 40 hours of special work.

They had to take part in a stage production, review another group’s performance, research one of their “arts heroes”, and take part in leadership activities.

Their activities included running warm-ups for fellow “Soupers”, and learning about actor David Tennant and singer Jessie J.

Big Soup plans to guide another set of members towards a bronze award.
