A prolific children’s author captured youngsters’ imaginations during a visit to the district.
Wes Magee spent a day with children from all age groups at Eastburn Junior and Infant School, near Keighley, as part of the school’s writing festival.
He helped pupils explore the art of story-writing during a series of creative sessions.
Mr Magee was born in Scotland, though now lives in a hamlet on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds. He has written many books and poems for children, and has also published six poetry collections for adults.
The writing festival organised by literacy co-ordinator Sandra McLean also included a visit by local poet Craig Bradley and a writing competition for the children.
