'Slow down' signs trialled in Craven
6:48pm Friday 1st February 2013 in News
A pilot scheme is to be run to test the effectiveness of special signs to encourage motorists to slow down.
The vehicle-activated signs are to be deployed throughout the year in parishes for a maximum of six weeks, removed for three months and then returned, Craven area committee was told.
The signs are triggered when speeds exceed 31mph in a 30 zone or 41mph in a 40 zone.
Twenty two locations have been identified in Craven where the devices could be set up.
