Preparations are under way for an exhibition of paintings from influential Scottish artist Ken Currie at the Bradford 1 Gallery in Centenary Square.

Three large paintings from his 2007 Immortality series – entitled A Gate, A Door and A Window – will be exhibited in Bradford for the first time from tomorrow. The exhibition will also feature a selection of other works, including Dead Stag, from his previous Animals series.

Mr Currie is influenced by traditional Spanish painting and his larger-than-life canvases primarily explore visions of power, darkness and immortality.

The exhibition will run at the Bradford Council-run venue until Saturday, May 4.
