Police appeal over Gomersal ram-raid
4:46pm Monday 28th January 2013 in News
Ram-raiders caused serious damage to a shop after using a 4x4 vehicle to smash their way through the front window and remove a cash machine.
The raiders prised open the metal shutters of the convenience store, in Spen Lane, Gomersal, and reversed the vehicle into the shop front.
They attached something from the 4x4 to the standalone ATM machine, which contained a significant amount of cash, and hauled it from the premises, before driving away.
The ram-raid happened between 1am and 1.30am, on Saturday. Detectives are now studying CCTV from inside the shop for clues.
The vehicle used was dark-coloured. There were three or four suspects, all males wearing balaclava masks and dark clothing.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Constable Ady Lever, at Dewsbury CID, on (01924) 431012.
