A talk is to be given about the early work of David Hockney at Cartwright Hall Art Gallery, Bradford, next month.
Christopher Simon Sykes, author of Hockney: The Biography, will talk about Hockney’s early life in support of David Hockney: The Early Years, which is currently on show at the gallery until April 14.
Sykes’s biography, published in 2011, focuses on the first 30 years of Hockney’s life.
Film-maker Bruno Wolheim returns to talk about his 2009 film for BBC1, David Hockney: A Bigger Picture, which follows the Bradford-born artist over three years as he paints the East Yorkshire landscape.
Two free drop-in events, including a tour of the exhibition and a talk about Hockney, will be held on February 14 and March 14, from 2pm.
Christopher Sykes’s talk will be given on Sunday, February 10, from 2pm. David Hockney: A Bigger Picture, will be screened on Sunday, March 10, from 2pm.
