Bradford actress Natalie Anderson is taking to the stage at the historic City Varieties Music Hall in Leeds for a charity concert in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Natalie, who plays Alicia Metcalfe in Emmerdale, will join other Yorkshire-based musicians led by singer Ian Donaghy.

Natalie, who competed on the first series of Pop Idol in 2002, alongside Bradford’s Gareth Gates, and has released an album, said: “I’m really excited to be performing live, with a group of such highly respected musicians on a world-famous stage. It’s quite different from the day job!”

The line-up, called The Guestlist, will play covers of hits by acts such as Otis Reading, The Kinks, The Eagles and Dolly Parton with acoustic arrangements.

“I used to do my homework watching The Good Old Days at City Varieties with my mum,” said Mr Donaghy. “Sadly I lost Mum to cancer.

“Each of us has been touched by the illness and we’re on a mission to raise awareness and make a difference.”

The Guestlist is at City Varieties Music Hall on Saturday at 8pm. Tickets are available on (0113) 2430808 or visit cityvarieties.co.uk.
