Film club scheme unveiled in Bradford

A new partnership between the British Federation of Film Societies and education charity FilmClub is being unveiled in Bradford.

The scheme, aimed at promoting film in schools, will be launched at Bradford’s Plaza Cinema on Friday when 150 youngsters from primary schools will be invited to an afternoon of free cinema and games.

The event marks the start of a working relationship between two national film charities, the BFFS and school club initiative FilmClub.

City of Film director David Wilson said the aim was to encourage schools and film societies to work together through film clubs.

He said: “Film societies can lend their specialist knowledge and passions to schools, and schools can introduce a new generation of film fans to film societies.”

Any schools interested in booking up to 15 free spaces at Friday’s event are asked to e-mail Sam Wilson at FilmClub on sam.wilson@filmclub. org.
