A junior football club in Queensbury has secured £50,000 of Olympic legacy funding.
Queensbury Celtic Football Club will use the cash to upgrade its indoor hall. The club has finished building the hall, which allows its young members to enjoy football, whatever the weather.
The funding from Sports England will now pay for the final stage of this project, which will include installing heating.
The club, which has helped thousands of young people get into football since it began in 1991, hopes the hall will also be used by the wider community, such as parent and toddler groups and older people.
Bradford South MP Gerry Sutcliffe (Lab) said: “This is fantastic news for a hard-working club which does so much for the local community.
“This grant is a deserved reward for all their dedication and hard work over the years and will enable the club to go from strength to strength.”
