Firefighters have launched an investigation after a brand new washing machine burst into flames on the same day it was delivered and fitted at a Bradford home.
Crews from Fairweather Green fire station were called to reports of a blaze on Langbar Avenue in Daisy Hill at 10.30pm last night, where a woman had watched as the machine caught fire after she put her first wash on.
Crew commander Neal Andrews-Parry said: “She had put her first lot of washing in the machine and was watching it at the time.
“It was completely new and it had been bought and fitted that day.
“We have launched an investigation to look at the cause because the machine was new. It is very unusual for something for this to happen."
