Police in Bradford have been given two four-wheel drive vehicles to help improve response times, especially in the snow.
Two Land Rover Defenders have been provided, free of charge, by the Farnell Group.
Neighbourhood Policing Chief Inspector Damien Miller, of the Bradford South division, said: “For the second year running, we have been lucky enough to receive these 4x4 vehicles, which will be used to cover the Bradford South division. They ensure we have 4x4 capabilities on a very local level, allowing us to quickly respond when and where they are required.
“The recent conditions we have been experiencing are clearly testing for any vehicle and these Defenders will help ease the pressure on our resources.”
Jatinder Aujla, group operations manager for the Farnell Land Rover Group, which has a dealership on King’s Road in Bradford, said: “Farnell Land Rover are part of the Co-operative Group and we actively want to help the communities that surround our businesses.”
