Budget supermarket Aldi plans to start work on its new Skipton store in the spring.

The company, which was given permission in December to build on part of the Skipton Ford site off Keighley Road, says it hopes the store will be open by the end of the year.

The store will be built next to McDonalds and will include an 85-space car park. Objectors were concerned there would be an impact on Bradley Village Store, leading to its possible closure.
