Fans from far and wide get set for Wembley date! (From Bradford Telegraph and Argus)

Wembley here we come. Just booked my flight over today from Oz. Been a City fan for 30 years & this is going to be the best day ever. I never imagined that i would see City in a major cup final in my lifetime. All City fans dreams have come true & everybody at the club deserves all the praise that they are getting. Come on City lets finish this dream run off in style!

I'm sure there were other comments on this thread when I first saw it yesterday morning that, fortunately, seem to have been removed, including very hostile ones from a very embarrassing person who stated that they didn't want people like this coming over and taking tickets away from genuine fans. Two things - City average around 10,000 in attendances, so there will be over 20,000 fans there who, by this reckoning, are not 'genuine'. A relatively small amount of people coming from abroad are not going to stop 'genuine' fans get a ticket. Secondly, personally, as a fan for over 50 years, I welcome anyone who has the determination, desire and commitment to spend thousands of pounds and travel half way round the world to see a City match. In exactly the same way, I have no problem with 'outsiders' jumping on the bandwagon at VP because every extra person that comes through the gate brings more money in that is vital for this club, and also lays the foundation for them eventually turning into a 'genuine' fan. So I say good luck to all those people who want to be there at Wembley, I hope you get tickets, I hope you have a safe journey and I hope you enjoy the day. And, well done to the lads for some memorable games - I am proud of each and every one of you. This is a real fairy story and one I never imagined in my wildest dreams.

I am more irritated by a certain Bradford MP claiming that this is all part of the 'Bradford Spring'. What?????????? Please don't let these political parasites jump on the glory band wagon.

I should hope the council honour BCFC, after all they threw a party for a bunch of cheats who had achieved sod all at the taxpayers expense and have nothing to do with Bradford what so ever.

No doubt the councillors and MP's who couldn't give a toss when Bradford were going to the wall will be turning up hoping for freebies.

Just for clarity, given a couple of very relevant comments above, my reference to 'outsiders' is those peopl who choose to come and pay at the gate occasionally for big matches and I have no sympathy whatsoever for any political or freeloading people jumping on the bandwagon to associate themselves with success.

By and large you make a lot of sense. I think what concerns some people is that one-off supporters who don't care about City and will not come back to VP get tickets INSTEAD of those who are genuine supporters. It will be sad if some who regularly support the club and want to go are unable to because of those are only wanting to go to a historic game. The problem is; there is no measure of a "true" fan. Hopefully those who are genuine fans of the club will all get a ticket if they want one.

Anyone with a booking history with City in the last 10 years should get second refusal after the season ticket & flexicard holders.

BCFC have a database of people who have bought tickets in the past which would indicate they are not just jumping on the glory train as they must have endured some crap if they turned up in the last 10 years.

I thought Kris Hopkins wanted his constituency to no longer be part of Bradford? Don't jump on our bandwagon now you Tory Sh*te!

CheltCityFan, i couldnt agree more, I was born and bread in Bradford, but moved to Australia 15 years ago, I will be doing everything in my powers to get back home to see Bradford City , not only play at Wembley , but also WIN,
I will be booking my flights tomorrow, and hopefully be lucky enough to get a ticket for Wembley,

The only place there should be a reception should be at Valley Parade. I don't want to see anyone on the council involved unless a genuine supporter (e.g. David Ward), let them do their ego-massaging and publicity stealing somewhere else. They did absolutely nothing to help us in 2004 while (and Im NOT intending to start a Bulls-City war) while getting involved in the Bulls cries last year.

Should we win or lose, its a moment for everyone associated with the club, especially the fans who've travelled all over in this crap division when no-one else could be bothered, and some of the long-suffering members of staff. Not a moment for politicians to bandwagon jump.

If you are not a season ticket holder,and have not suffered like us for the past decade, who are.Then show your colours,at least,buy your wembley ticket by all means,then turn up at the city games prior to the final and add to the club coffers in order to help us out of this dog s###e division.

Me two i been a city fan for 45 years but been in oz for 35 years and with work and a large family its hard to get back but now they are all grown up and i got 4 weeks holidays am coming over to support my team bradford born and proud , last game 1977 and went to every away games 1974--1977 from hartlepool to torquay and my dad still go to the games and he 87 with one leg so i hope i can get there to see with him

Followed Bantams for over 40 years - live in Ireland but get to the night games - Season Ticket up to 6 years since -
Already arranged for Wembley -
Son flying in from Australia (Booked) 40 hours in flight 40 hours in London - I fly in from Warsaw (working there) - Partner flies in from Dublin - this is what this game does to you
BUT yes I am not a season ticket holder so no guarantee of tickets !! Hats off to the faithful who have stuck in there for last 10 years - bring it on !

Never been a politician born who will not jump onto a bandwagon when he/she sees one. That's what politicians are supposed to do.

I have read several comments on this thread regarding 'genuine or not' fans. I have been a supporter of BCFC man and boy, for the past 40+ years bringing my sons up to support the same team, who in turn take their sons down the same route. What about those who just pay cash at the turnstiles or those who live down South and attend quite a few away games to support the team but are unable to get to VP regularly? There won't be any record of that.

There is no reasonable way of City doing this beyond letting Season Ticket holders and 50-50 holders have first shout and then it's likely to be free-for all. Let's face it; even if they can show ticket stubs for Arsenal & Villa it doesn't exactly show them up as fans. If someone is willing to travel from Oz then i would be tempted to suggest that they deserve a ticket!!

Look I'm Bradford born and bred and after supporting both city,northern&bulls for 40 years does it matter who is a true fan or a glory supporter? Lets be fair Leeds united have had loads of them over the years.

Galloway is on question time tonight, he will mention City, he did when the Bulls beat Leeds last year

just spoke DIRECTLY to national express, their coaches leave wembley at 6.30PM regardless of extra time!
just thought i should warn people, you know how we like extra time and pens!!

Club have announced all flexicard and season ticket holders will have first refusal and probably +1.

Thank you for your sensible comments. I am a Northern lad...been since 1970......and have only ever been to see City 3/4 times ever (47 now). BUT over those years including 10 abroad I have followed City throughout.
I will be at Wembley, I will be supporting City and more importantly MY city. Lets all enjoy the times ....use this as a sling to shoot us into future success in sport and endeavour.

What I have realised over the past 12 months with Buls and City is that 'Labor Omnia Vincit' is without a doubt, a very apt motto for our beautiful city.

Was I dreaming when they threw a civic reception for a bunch of match fixing cheats at our expense last year.

I am flying back from Saudi Arabia. I am a season ticket holder and extended my stay in Bratfud at xmas to allow me to watch the first leg of the semi. I considered coming back for the second leg but figured that if i did that it would be difficult to then attend the final so i sold my Villa tickets on the assumption that we'd make it to Wembley. I fly back on the 21st February and have a hotel booked in London for the family with three generations attending the final. The arabs don't understand but don't let me get started with observations about the islamic paradise of Saudi Arabia.
