Work to cut Wyke sewage risk

Work is to begin on Monday on an £800,000 project to improve a sewerage system in Wyke to stop homes getting flooded.

Yorkshire Water says the scheme will “significantly” reduce the risk of properties suffering sewer flooding inside their homes.

Engineering specialists Mott MacDonald Bentley will install a large storage pipe in the field at the back of properties on Rooks Close and Westfield Lane over the next five months.
