Gritter overturns in icy conditions
A gritter crashed and overturned early today, coming to rest in a pub car park after demolishing a wall and signpost.
The drama unfolded outside the Guide Inn on Keighley Road, Hainworth just before 6am.
Pub manager Lisa Talbot said she slept through the drama until police woke her up, knocking on the door.
“I think the driver got out okay with no serious injuries - it was a lucky escape for him. It was a brand new wagon as well,” she said.
