More than 50 students from pupil referral units in the district attended an exhibition on the story of Anne Frank whose diary has inspired millions of people around the world.

The exhibition, in the hall of the Aireview Pupil Referral Unit in Saltaire, was visited by students from Ellar Carr, Jesse Street, the District and College PRUs as part of a project in partnership with the Anne Frank Trust.

The trust draws on the power of Anne Frank’s life and diary to challenge prejudice and reduce hatred, encouraging young people to embrace positive attitudes and respect others.

Trevor Loft, head of Aireview, said: “This has been a great opportunity for the young people. They have gained a lot from the experience and risen to the challenge.”

Students from Aireview were coached as peer guides and they talked visitors through the story at the event.
