Two collisions in half an hour cause more motorway misery

Two crashes in 27 minutes caused more misery for M62 motorists this afternoon.
Traffic chaos followed smashes at 2.07pm and 2.34pm, both on the eastbound stretch of motorway between junctions 26 at Chain Bar and 27 at Gildersome.
The first involved a HGV and a pick-up truck, while the second was a five-vehicle pile-up.
Police said they were not aware of any serious injuries, but added that ambulances were called to both incidents.
