Students from across Bradford are taking part in a march demonstrating against cuts in education today.
They gathered outside Bradford College this afternoon before about 100 of them marched to Centenary Square.
The action is part of a national demonstration by the National Union of Students involving colleges and universities across the country.
Piers Telemacque, 20, of Wibsey, president of the college’s student union, said: “It’s about empowering students, it’s about students realising they do have a stake, not only in their education but also in their futures.
“It’s empowering students to help themselves. It’s about privatisation of education which is creating barriers to people accessing education, so what this is about is students telling the government, the public and the media that they are angry and they want to make changes which are going to benefit students.”
