Two Bradford brothers are among seven people who have been charged by police in connection with football hooliganism which shocked passengers using a West Yorkshire railway station.

Commuters were left in fear after a vicious fight broke out at Leeds railway station between rival soccer fans, during which glasses and bottles were used as weapons.

Two groups of fans, from Leeds United and Middlesbrough, were involved in the fighting, which took place during the early evening in the summer.

British Transport Police detectives have released a series of CCTV images of the incident during a detailed investigation to arrest the suspects.

The fighting broke out shortly before 7pm, on Saturday, August 18, this year, on platform 13 of the busy station.

Glasses and bottles were used during the fight, and several people were injured.

Three arrests were made directly after the incident took place. Four more suspects were later arrested after police circulated CCTV images.

Yesterday British Transport Police said seven people had been charged with violent disorder in connection with the fight.

All seven have been bailed to appear at Leeds Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, December 4.

They include two brothers, aged 22 and 24, from Buttershaw, Bradford.

Also charged were four men from Middlesbrough, aged between 22 and 51, and a 17-year-old Middlesbrough girl.

A 22-year-old man, of Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham, has been reported for violent disorder.

Police released a further image of a man they wanted to speak to who they believed had vital information about the incident.
