A Bradford pharmacy held a diabetes awareness event to coincide with World Diabetes Day.
Khalil Qamar, superintendent pharmacist, organised the event at Barkerend Pharmacy, in Barkerend Road, Bradford to help people find out what they can do to reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
He said: “We opened in August this year, and we hope this will be our first of many health events that we will hold from our pharmacy.”
The event saw specialist doctors answering questions on diabetes, customers took advantage of health checks including blood glucose and blood pressure checks, free upgrades on old diabetic machines, healthy food, free refreshments and a children’s playbus.
