Football fans queued around the block today to snap up tickets for Bradford City’s forthcoming Capital One Cup quarter-final against Arsenal.

Tickets went on sale to season-ticket holders from 9am - but some supporters had arrived at Valley Parade a couple of hours before to make sure of booking the spots they wanted.

A club spokesman said: “It’s been manic outside with the line stretching round the office building to the car park. But it just shows how much people are looking forward to the game.”

Season-ticket and flexi-card holders can buy a maximum of two tickets each for the match on Tuesday. December 11. Once the initial phase of sales is over, there will be a voucher priority scheme for those who attend the home games against Exeter on Saturday and Plymouth next Tuesday.

It will be City’s first appearance in the last eight of the competition since 1989.
