A £3 million extension at a Bradford primary school, which is to house a range of new facilities including a library and learning centre, has been officially handed over.

The extension at Horton Park Primary School in Canterbury, Bradford, will also house a sports hall, administrative and technical staff bases, alongside the six classrooms required for the expanding school population.

Local dignitaries and Bradford Council officers were on hand yesterday as construction company Willmott Dixon handed over the building.

Headteacher Sarah Dawson said: “We are really looking forward to using this fantastic resource to benefit the learning of the children and the community, and the school would like to thank all those that have been involved so far.”

The new building will be open to members of the community on Thursday, November 22, from 9am to 11am.
