A Bradford councillor arrested last week in connection with a suspected violent disorder has been suspended from the Labour group.
Abid Hussain is a councillor for the Keighley Central ward, but will be suspended from the group without prejudice until the police investigation, or any subsequent court case, ends.
But he remains a councillor, and can still take part in council meetings.
The 53-year-old is currently on police bail until an unspecified date.
Coun Hussain was among six men held by West Yorkshire Police last weekend following an investigation into a street brawl dating back to August.
