A family escaped unhurt after shots were fired at their house in what police believe was a targeted attack.

A window was shattered and a door damaged when a shotgun was discharged on a Bradford estate.

Three young children and two women are understood to have been inside the semi-detached house in Muirhead Drive, Holme Wood.

Police said they were called shortly after 2am on Sunday to reports of damage to a door and window, believed to have been caused by a firearm. Officers found it to be consistent with a shotgun discharge. No-one was injured.

Detective Inspector Chris Gibson said yesterday: “At this stage, the motive is unclear and we are working to establish the full circumstances. The nature of the incident, however, indicates that this was a targeted attack.”
