Road safety measure put in place
11:00am Sunday 28th October 2012 in News
A new pedestrian crossing in Oakenshaw will come into operation on Tuesday after campaigns by the two local authorities which share a boundary in the village.
The new Oakenshaw puffin crossing near St Andrew’s Church, on Bradford Road, was put in place after Bradford and Kirklees Councils worked together to address residents’ road safety fears.
Ward forums and other meetings also resulted in a new pedestrian refuge being installed at the bottom of Wyke Lane, more signs from Chain Bar and a speed indicator device on Bradford Road.
