Sandwich shop extension bid is turned down

The secretary of state has thrown out plans to allow a Bradford sandwich shop to open until midnight.

Bosses at Sandwich Perfection in Brownroyd Hill, Wibsey, had applied to Bradford Council to extend its opening hours from 2pm to midnight, including Sundays and Bank Holidays.

The Council refused the application, stating that to allow it would create “significant noise and disturbance at unsocial hours” in a residential neighbourhood.

Timur Hussain, who applied for planning permission, appealed and that appeal has now been dismissed by the secretary of state.
