Injured soldiers will be helped with money raised from a brass band concert in Yeadon.
The 15th annual concert organised by the Rotary Club of Aireborough at the Town Hall last night raised funds for the Army Benevolent Fund – the Soldiers’ Charity – and Help for Heroes.
Returning to Yeadon for their third consecutive visit were the Hepworth Band.
Prior to the event a Rotary Club spokesman said: “At the Rotary District Conference in Scarborough, Club members had the opportunity to hear a dynamic and uplifting presentation from Lt Col Mel Pears of the Irish Guards. “He movingly described the invaluable work being undertaken in rehabilitating soldiers wounded in or scarred by conflict.”
