Well-wishers dig deep for cancer sufferer Edward, 2

Well-wishers dug deep to help a children’s cancer charity after reading of the bravery of two-year-old leukaemia sufferer Edward Clarke.
About 40 fundraisers donned fancy dress and took to the streets of Yeadon in support of Candlighters.
Although the final figures are not yet in, the collection is believed to have raised between £1,000 and £1,500.
The fundraising walk around Yeadon was carried out by the Yeadon Veterans football team along with Edward’s family and friends.
Organiser Paul Murray said: “We had an excellent turn-out and got a fantastic reception. We went into local businesses, pubs and restaurant and everyone was very generous.
“A lot of people said we have read about it in the paper and we were hoping that you might come in.”
He said two of the fundraisers had their heads shaved for money – one of them for £100 by his mother.
Edward’s dad and uncle have already raised more than £1,000 by having their heads shaved in an effort to make the hair loss side effect of chemotherapy easier for the little boy.
