The search is on for Bradford's number one Race for Life participant.
With thousands of women across the district limbering up in preparation for the 5km race in Manningham's Lister Park on June 1 to raise money for Cancer Research UK, the number one race number is up for grabs.
Women who would like the honour of wearing the number one running vest are being invited to write or e-mail the Telegraph & Argus and explain why they are taking part in Race for Life this year.
The entries will be read and the one judged the most special will be given the number one for the morning or the afternoon race, rather than the running number they have at the moment.
With the Bradford event taking place in just a weeks time we need to pick a winner as soon as possible so entries must be in by Tuesday, May 27.
Jenny Key, event manager for Bradford Race for Life, said: "We are delighted to be returning to Lister Park for Race for Life 2008.
"Each and every woman who is taking part has their own reason for wanting to be involved and raise money for Cancer Research UK - whether it is in memory of someone they've lost, in celebration of their own life or a friend or relative who has beaten cancer.
"We'd like to hear from women who have signed up about why they are taking part in Cancer Research UK's Race for Life, how their fundraising efforts are going and whether they are planning to walk, jog or run the 5km course.
"We would then like to give away the number one running number to someone who really should be acknowledged for their support of Cancer Research UK and give them the chance to sound the starting horn and officially start the event."
